Family Strengthening — because incarceration affects everyone.
Amachi Pittsburgh knows incarceration as a family issue — affecting children, adults, relationships, and family functioning. Families need tangible emotional, and social support. Our services are designed to produce healing environments that are designed to reduce trauma and increase healthy family functioning, with help from a strong network of community partners.

- Workshops and activities that strengthen the parent–child relationship — involving children, custodial parents, and incarcerated parents
- Fun family outings to build positive shared memories
- Parenting classes and reunification support for parents returning home from incarceration
- Case management to help families navigate complex systems
