Amachi Pittsburgh views parental incarceration as a family issue — affecting children, adults, relationships, and family functioning. Families need instrumental, emotional, and social support. Our services are designed to reduce trauma and increase healthy family functioning, with help from a strong network of community partners.

- Workshops and activities that strengthen the parent–child relationship — involving children, custodial parents, and incarcerated parents
- Fun family outings to build positive shared memories
- Parenting classes and reunification support for parents returning home from incarceration
- Case management to help families navigate complex systems
