Many of the world's most successful people have benefited from having a mentor. For a child with one or both parents incarcerated, the commitment and support of a mentor is beyond measure — socially, emotionally, and academically.
Mentee Requirements
- Has an incarcerated family member (current or former)
- Is between 6 and 18 years old
- Resides in Allegheny County, PA
- Completes an intake screening, communicates regularly with Amachi staff, and follows all program policies
Refer a child or family
Referrals and family intakes are completed through our Youth and Family Intake Form. A Mentoring Specialist will follow up to begin the intake process with the family.
